"Great Short Day of Rocks"

Well the day started out on a bad note this morning,

waiting on the mate with car troubles. (part time mate)

Not to up set my charter I sent them to Denny's to fill

 up there bellies at the Rock Hound's expense, to give 

the mate time to arrive. Well after 2 hours waiting on 

the mate and a cost of $80.00 at Denny's I find out the

 mate is already out onthe water mating another Boat. 

A call the night before would have saved me $80.00.

"Nothing keeps the Rock Hound off the water", so we 

departed at 8AM to the fishing grounds. I gave the 

wheel to one of the crew members as I put lines out.

Within 5 min. a rod go's off and a rock hits the deck.

I reset the line and all hell broke out,

bang all 5 rods go off and we have our

over limit for the day. SWEEEEET

Just 1/2 hour of lines in and we are at C&R

for the rest of the day.

 We had rods going off one after the other.

We had doubles and triple rods bending.

After all the action and the crew full of reeling 

in rocks, they boat over 20 fish in 2 hours. We 

were back at the dock at 12:30, SWEEEET

The last week's acton

My PC is back up and running, sorry for the

delay's of posting reports to my clients.

In the last week we had some good days and some

not so go days due to the weather. Here are a few

reports and pic's of the past weeks charters.

On Saturday 12/15 had Mark and Jose's

crew out, we went 2 for 8 not good numbers.

On Wednesday had Danny and his

Amish crew. They don't allow you to take 

there Pic, so Mate Zack is holding up

the 47 lber they boated. 

And this is Chris and his dad and brother

we had out Thursday. We limit out by 9:45 am

and back at the dock by 1:00 pm

Nice weather ahead

"Nice Weather, lets go Fishing"

Once again we have another great weather window

for the next 7 days. Our last charter on Sunday 

the RockHound  had a little trouble once we got

to the fishing grounds, forcing us to depart back

to the doghouse earlier than normal. 

Trolling south we got a sreaming hit, Diane got to

 the rod and reeled in her nice 47" 43 Lb rock fish.We 

had 3 more runs heading home that ever came tight.

The "Rock Hound" is back in action, a ground wire

had come lose on the port motor which once found

was an easy fix. We have a full charter week ahead

of head of us, but do have a few openings.

Rock Fish everywhere

"There's lots of Rocks out There"

Well we left the dog house in the fog and

headed to the fishing grounds slower than normal.

Got lines in and had reels going off in 5 min.

First rock in the boat miss's paper by 1/2 a pound.

We also lost another big fish and a planer board

on this drift, got wrapped around the trim tab.

With the fog hanging around most of the 

day, the bite was study. We had some nice

knock downs that just didn't come tight.

The boys today all had fun reeling in

fish and learning how to use planer boards.

We ended the day with this nice 42 lb

rock fish that just kept peeling line.

Night Bite is on

"Night Bite is on"

For all who are waiting for the night bite 

to start, the waiting is over. I planed on

going Thursday evening but it just didn't

come together. I did make it out Friday night 

with jet ski Brian and his crew after hearing

 reports of good catch's Thursday night.

Here's Tina with her 1st Rock Fish,

she handled the rod like a pro,

"good job girl"

And the rest of the crew got in on the 

fun as well. It wasn't a great night but

that's fishing, you don't know in less you go.

slow bite today

"Slow Bite Today"

Left the doghouse at 8 am today, with a nice

 ride to the fishing grounds. had lines in by 9 am.

The bite was slow today, got our 1st rock

in the boat at 11 am.

Then the next hit came around 12:30 am

No one is catching much on the radio,

our next bite came 2 pm 

Our last hookup of the day came at 2:45 pm, all 

fish today were 38" long. We headed back to the 

doghouse at 3 pm, on the way in we hear on the 

radio that the bite turned on about 3:15 pm

3 happy Anglers

"3 Happy Anglers"

With the HRBT repairs going on this weekend,

the RockHound got a later start this morning.

After getting to the fishing grounds we went

1 for 2 on our first drift. The one we missed

was a giant mark at 55 feet on the bottom we 

dropped down the eel to and  lost him on the

way up to the boat.

Weather was nice again today, and so

were the Rock Fish boated.

With the water temps holding, looks like

we are in for another great bay Season.

The Rock Hound now has a great

Great weather this weekend and the bite is on.

Had lines in by 7:30 am and 2 fish in the box by 7:45.

Rock Fish were hitting hard and pulling drag today.

The look on his face says it all.

Everyone today enjoyed reeling in Rocks.

Kathy and her boys from Richmond  now

have some meat for the freezer.

Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.
